Art Sessions

A session of art, facilitated by a member of the Rehab Team and volunteers.  We can take you through creating pictures or paintings step by step, or you can work on a creation of your own.

Thursday afternoons 1pm-2pm.  These session can be accessed as part of our Centre Day Workshop or as a standalone session.

These sessions provide a safe space where people can enjoy being creative and at the same time have enjoyable conversations.  We offer a range of artistic sessions that will cover, shading, perspective, animals, birds, landscapes, seascapes, buildings, boats, people, flowers, trees and lots more.

We cater to all abilities.  We have budding artists of all levels.  Everyone can join in.

If you feel you have no artistic flair or that it is too difficult to draw something from scratch, you can still join in and have fun.  We will provide you with a black and white outline of the finished picture.  From here you can use your cognitive skills to decide on colours and practice your fine motor skills in colouring it in.  This option is a great way to taking part and have some social interaction, whilst building up your confidence, fine motor skills and ability.  Tracing something can also be a great way of creating your own piece of art.  We have watercolour paints, acrylic paints, pastels, coloured pencils and chalks.

Occasionally we will do other hand made crafts such as pottery or paper folding and decoration making.

"Very enjoyable and stimulating session.  It's like we have been friends for years".
