Every year Headway Surrey has entrants in the London Marathon, and this year we are proud to have entrants for the Virtual London Marathon and four entrants for the Actual London Marathon.
Both events taking place on 3 October 2021. The runners are showing amazing commitment to their training and we are so grateful for their support. We are enjoying hearing updates from them about their gruelling schedule and their stories that led them to the London Marathon.
R.E.D January and 5K Garden Runs
January or anytime
R.E.D January is a movement aimed at supporting your mental wellbeing through daily exercise. Matthew Bennett who suffered a brain injury himself over 50 years ago ran every day in January 2020 and covered nearly 200 miles.
He enjoyed running so much he has taken to running regular 5Ks in his very own garden. His aim was to run between 75 and 100 but has already exceeded 125 and has a new target of 150!
Matthew in his 60s, is an inspiration to us all and we are thankful he has chosen Headway Surrey as his preferred charity. These events are not impacted by COVID-19 and we welcome new fundraisers all the time...
Annual Guildford Sponsored Walk / Run - 5K or 10K

The course is planned by the Rotary club and members of the public walk the route for their chosen charity.
Unfortunately due to the impact of COVID-19 on organised gatherings, the event was cancelled in 2020 but we hope it will be back in the near future.
