Young Persons Services

We have services designed specifically for young adults aged between 18 and 30. They are aimed at people who have sustained an Acquired Brain Injury – either Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) or other types of Acquired Brain Injury (ABI) - stroke, encephalitis, hypoxia etc.


Young Persons Support Group

Monthly group to meet others, share experience, learn strategies and skills to deal with brain injury, have fun and socialise. Subjects covered will be user led to some extent, with varied and interesting content. Sessions are free so come and join in...

Walking Group

We have a monthly Walking Group for all adults over 18 in different locations on a Friday morning.  short stroll, with a coffee stop.  An easy way to meet some other young people in a similar situation. Why not consider joining us, find out more here.


Understanding Brain Injury six-week course  

This course is for all adults over 18 and will offer the opportunity to learn more about the brain, the consequences and impairments associated with brain injury, e.g. memory, concentration, and emotional and behavioural difficulties. As well as practical advice, there is plenty of time to discuss issues, ask questions and share experiences.     

There are six sessions run in a friendly and relaxed group format with our qualified Rehabilitation Coordinators, who specialise in brain injury. Sessions last 60 to 90 minutes and include one hour topic content with 30 minutes at the end for discussion and questions (optional).

Topics covered include:

  • Understanding the brain
  • Cognition
  • Fatigue
  • Emotion and behaviour changes
  • Moving forwards

The details

    • Location: Sessions are conducted online via ‘Zoom’. If you are new to Zoom, we can help you get set up.
    • Price: The course of six sessions costs £60 (concessions available).
    • Time: 1pm - 2.30pm
    • Dates: Next course starts 14th March 2022

Family, close friends and carers are important and need their own space and time to deal with the effects of being with and caring for someone with a brain injury.

This is a FREE SERVICE and is available to anyone with an Acquired Brain Injury.

Professional Training and talks

We can provide tailored training to your staff or group. This can be a presentation on a particular topic or a question-and-answer session.
