County Club Members Support Headway Surrey
A tremendous cheque for over £21,000 has been donated by The County Club, Guildford, to local brain injury charity, Headway Surrey.
The funds were raised by Club members and friends over the past year through a number of fund-raising events including a major charity golf day at West Hill Golf Club and a specially arranged Gentlemen’s Christmas Lunch at the Club.
Presenting the cheque to the charity on Monday, March 24, 2014, County Club Chairman Howard House commented, ”It has been a pleasure and a privilege to support Headway Surrey as The County Club’s chosen local charity this past year. The Club and its members wish Headway continued success in the great work it does.”
The Stoughton-based charity, operating from Headway House in North Road, provides a vital range of support services for people, throughout Surrey, who have survived a brain injury. It also works with their families, carers and friends.
“The past few years have been incredibly difficult for the voluntary sector,” commented Chief Executive Oliver McGeachy, ”and a major donation such as this makes all the difference in the world to the range of services we can provide. We are hugely grateful to the members of The County Club for their efforts and support.
