Drop in Facility

The next Drop In is on Friday, 3rd November 2017

10.30 am to 2.00 pm

The next Carers Support Meeting is on Wednesday, 11th October 2017 - Gomshall Mill, 52 Station Road, Gomshall, Surrey GU5 9LB

Everyone is welcome at our Drop In. It is an informal day for people to meet and socialise with others who are affected by brain injury. Come and have a chat, relax, read the papers, play board games or pool. Coffee and tea is provided. Members of staff will be happy to answer any questions and provide information and support.

Why Drop In?  “We were acutely aware", commented Chief Executive Oliver McGeachy, “that a lot of the people we support, their families and carers, feel socially excluded because of their disability".

The average person in the street often completely fails to notice the disabilities faced by someone with a brain injury, when they first meet. Unfortunately the individual’s disabilities, such as loss of memory, mean that the simplest tasks in life can be the most problematic.  This can make sustaining a social life a very difficult business indeed.

The Drop In is not, in any way, intended to replace the formal services which we run at our Centre throughout the rest of the week.

The Drop In and information & support service are not restricted to existing members. Anyone who has used the Centre in the past or who is currently trying to deal with a brain injury, including families and carers, is welcome to come along.

This service is open to anyone affected by brain injury.
