A day out at Birdworld in Farnham

Our Tuesday and Thursday group members recently enjoyed a day out at Birdworld in Farnham.

We viewed many birds including kookaburras, parrots, owls, penquins, eagles and budgies and also feeding of the penguins.  We saw other animals including reindeer and pigs.  After lunch we went to the sealife centre and saw piranha, numerous fish, both big and small, including starfish, seahorse and clown fish.

The talk at the Penguin enclosure mentioned Robben Island where Nelson Mandela was imprisoned, now a nature reserve.

We say many types of birds, including parrots, penguins and owls.  Birdworld is set in 26 acres of beautiful parkland and landscaped gardens and is the perfect backdrop to birds from all parts of the world.  There is also a farm which is of special interest to children as they can play with small animals allowing them the opportunity to handle animals for the first time in a safe environment.
