On a weekly basis Headway Surrey is now running a friendly, free-of-charge, “Drop-In” facility in Guildford.
Why Drop In? “We were acutely aware, “commented Chief Executive Oliver McGeachy, “that a lot of the people we support, their families and carers, feel socially excluded because of their disability. “The average person in the street often completely fails to notice the disabilities faced by someone with a brain injury, when they first meet. Unfortunately the individual’s disabilities, such as loss of memory, mean that the simplest tasks in life can be the most problematic. This can make sustaining a social life a very difficult business indeed “The Drop-In' is not, in any way, intended to replace the formal services which we run at our Centre throughout the rest of the week. The Drop-In and information & support service are not restricted to existing members. Anyone who has used the centre in the past or who is currently trying to deal with a brain injury, including families and carers, is welcome to come along. This service is open to anyone affected by brain injury. The dates for 2011 will be added to this page as soon as they are finalised. IMPORTANT NOTICE: The Friday "Drop In" will be closed on the 17th February 2012. IMPORTANT NOTICE: We will be running a "Drop In" for advice & guidance to those affected by brain injury at The Hub, Redhill, between 11.30 - 2pm every first Wednesday of each month. www.thehubepsom.org.uk Friday Drop In @ Guildford - click link to see details of Friday's Drop IN Guildford - Friday Drop In - Click link to access directions For more information contact the team on 01483 454433 email: enquiries@headwaysurrey.org |
