Clandon Regis Chips in with Support

Everyone was delighted recently to hear that the members of Clandon Regis Golf Club, on the outskirts of Guildford, have nominated Headway Surrey as their Captains’ Charity of the Year.

A whole series of events and functions have been arranged at the Club over the next 12 months in support of our work.

Club Captains John Fitzpatrick and Gill Beaton decided to support Headway Surrey as a result of John’s contact with us in the course of building the new Headway House.  John is managing the building project on behalf of Croudace CHP. As a result he has had a great deal of contact with our members over the past 18 months.  Knowing the work we do, he was enthusiastic about nominating Headway Surrey and Ladies Captain, Gill, was more than happy to support the nomination.

“Yet again,” commented Oliver McGeachy, Headway Surrey’s Chief Executive, “we have an example of a leading community organisation voluntarily throwing its support behind our work.  John and Gill’s nomination could not have come at a better time – when we are planning the furnishing and equipment for the new Headway House.

“This is an important and significant gesture on the part of Clandon Regis Golf Club and it will be highly appreciated by our members.”

Virgin London Marathon 2010:

We have seven places for runners in the 2010 Marathon. We currently have six wonderful runners so far and have one place to fill, for anyone who would like to represent Headway Surrey please contact Joy Harding for further information.

Our four amazing runners completed the 2009 London Marathon on an extremely hot day!  They all enjoyed the day but found it tough due to the weather conditions.

Everyone at Headway Surrey thank the runners for all their dedication, training and time they have given to Headway Surrey. They have managed to raise an amazing amount of sponsorship in a very difficult climate - we send our thanks to everyone that has donated to our runners.

These donations really help to boost our fundraising and enable us to continue to support many people across Surrey affected by Head Injury and enable us to offer a wide range of services for families and carers

We need to raise funds on a ongoing basis in order to continue our work.

Our Costs

HEADWAY Surrey is run on a tight budget and all cost are kept to a minimum. Consequently every penny which is raised for HEADWAY Surrey goes towards fulfilling our aims - providing services for and supporting people who have sustained head injuries, their families and carers.

How Can you Help?

Donations: Any donation whatever its size will make a difference. £1 will pay for sending out information to a distressed family. £48.00 would pay for a day at our facility.

Does your company or do you know of any companies that have a yearly event that we could benefit from?  Last year we received over £2,000.00 from Proctor and Gamble’s golf day, which was a huge help. If so please contact us.

On line donations :  We have teamed up with justgiving.com so that supporters of our Charity can donate to us easily on line. The site is very  ‘user friendly’.  You would need to type in or click on the following link: http://www.justgiving.com/headwaysurrey/donate  this will take you directly to the donation page. If you go onto to the Just Giving website via a search engine please make sure that you choose Headway Surrey as your charity (not just Headway). There is a drop down box asking if you wish to make a single or monthly donation (tick your choice).  If you haven’t used the site before, you follow the easy instructions to create an account with a password.  You will also need to supply your credit / debit card details.  When you have completed your donation it supplies you with a reference number and you can print a copy.  The site is secure and if you are a UK Tax Payer, a gift aid payment is automatically paid to our account along with your donation.

People who have competed in events to raise money for us at HEADWAY this year, including the London Marathon and Mid Summer Munro, have used this site to create their own sponsorship pages and have collected  their sponsorship this way. If you wish to set up a sponsorship page you would need to type in or click on the following link: http://www.justgiving.com/headwaysurrey/raisemoney/ or you can contact us or telephone the just giving team on 0800 0286183 for more details.

Anyone who has access to a computer can use this service to make a donation or raise sponsorship.

Collecting Tins: We are always looking for people to have or distribute collecting tins. They could be placed  at your place of work, or enquire with local shops & businesses if they would be willing to support us by having a collecting tin. If you are interested please contact us.

Gift Aid : HEADWAY Surrey can now reclaim tax on all donations made by taxpayers. All you have to do is fill in  a gift aid form when you make a donation (available from our office) and we will be able to reclaim £2.82 for every £10.00 donated. This money claimed over a year makes a huge difference!

Recycling : If you have any unwanted mobile phones or empty laser or toner cartridges. We are able to recycle these and gain funds this way. If Business's are interested in this we can arrange for them to be collected direct from your place of work. We also collect stamps. Contact us for further details.
